OG Pro Controller - Reprogram Back Buttons/Paddles (OP OG Remap Chip)

How to Remap Your Back Buttons (OP OG Remap)

If your controller is fitted with the OP OG Remap chip, you can map any button to the rear paddles, set up rapid-fire and multi-press actions, and save up to four custom profiles — all from the controller itself, with no app or PC required.

Works on DualSense and DualShock 4 controllers fitted with OP OG Remap. The light bar acts as the status indicator throughout.

Before you start

  • Turn the controller on and connect it to your console before entering any mode.
  • When you enter a setting mode, the indicator blinks white rapidly. Wait until it turns solid before moving to the next step.
  • Your settings are saved automatically to the active profile.

1. Remap a back button

Assign any standard button to one of the rear paddles.

  1. Turn the controller on and connect it to the console.
  2. Enter setting mode by pressing and holding: L1 + R1 + + . Wait for the indicator to stop blinking and stay solid.
  3. Press and hold the paddle together with the button you want to assign to it. The paddle now triggers that button.

2. Multi-click, Turbo, Double & Triple click

As well as a normal press, a paddle can fire a button repeatedly or several times from a single tap. Each mode is entered with its own combination, then set up the same way.

Turbo-click (rapid auto-fire)

Double-click (two presses per tap)

Triple-click (three presses per tap)

To set one up:

  1. Turn the controller on and connect it to the console.
  2. Enter the mode you want using the combination above, then wait for the indicator to go solid.
  3. Press and hold the paddle together with the button you want it to fire. The indicator blinks white rapidly.
  4. When the blinking stops, press a D-pad direction to choose the speed (the delay between presses):

Up

100 ms

Right

  1. To save, press and hold the chosen paddle until the light goes out.

Advanced: chain several buttons onto one paddle

In Multi-click mode you can store a whole sequence of buttons on a single paddle, with a chosen delay between each one. Enter the buttons in order, tapping the D-pad direction (for your chosen delay) between each one.

Example — fire in sequence with a 25 ms gap, press in this order:

Then press the paddle to store it. The combination is now saved to the controller's memory.

3. Disable or re-enable a paddle

  1. Turn the controller on and connect it to the console.
  2. Enter setting mode by pressing and holding: L1 + R1 + + . Wait for the indicator to go solid.
  3. Press and hold the paddle until the light goes out. Repeat for the second paddle if needed.

To re-enable a paddle, enter setting mode again (step 2) and repeat the same hold action.

4. Save & switch profiles

The chip has 4 profile slots, so you can keep a different paddle setup for each game or genre. You can switch profiles at any time, even mid-game.

  1. Turn the controller on (this works during gameplay).
  2. Enter profile management by pressing and holding: L1 + R1 + + . Wait for the indicator to go solid.
  3. Press and hold one of the four buttons to load that profile: · · · . The indicator blinks, then goes off — the profile is now loaded.

Good to know: paddle settings save automatically to the profile that's currently active. To keep separate setups, switch to a different profile before changing them. When the controller is powered on, it always loads the last profile you used.

Troubleshooting

  • A combination isn't registering? Make sure the controller is switched on and connected to the console, and that you're holding all the buttons together.
  • Mode won't activate? Always wait for the indicator to stop blinking and stay solid before moving to the next step.
  • Lost your settings? Remember that changes apply to the active profile only — check you're on the right one.
